Caternet is designed to provide on-line services to customers in as large or small usage as each customer requires. We have set out to provide a fair charging policy as we have in the past been subjected to buying software that looks really good for what we have wanted to do, only to find that there are a large list of hidden charges once we had committed to the system. Therefore there are no hidden charges with Caternet, and we will also not be beaten on price for the system – please see our price promise statement.
What is included in your licence charge?
Caternet is an integrated system so we provide all the software services on the licence fee as follows:
Budgeting and phasing, all data processing within the system, reporting, cash controls and cashflow management, recipe costing, nutritional analysis, stock system, wastage and sales production, payroll interface, secure data storage facilities, the Monday to Friday help line from 8am to 6pm (sensible usage for on-job training purposes), and all updates that are relevant to the system development and improvement.
What is not included in your licence charge?
The Matrix knowledge base which is listed out below, any bespoke programming requirements and integrations to current systems, e-procurement (if you want the full purchasing service), any additional staff required if you want us to process invoices put into the system, out of hours support line, and one-off charges as listed below.
Caternet licence charge
We charge Caternet out monthly at a % of the purchases that are put through the system as; i). you need to put purchases through the system to use it, ii). the more you use it, the higher the licence fee is because you will use more of the system (there are economies of scale worked into the charging scale for larger use customers), and iii). we can then provide a no limit, multiple use licence as the more people you put onto the system means the larger user you are, so the purchases will be higher!
Matrix licence charge
We provide a Microsoft SharePoint based system as a working knowledge base which has public galleries of up to the minute HSE/HACCP, employment law, food alerts and any other statutory details, all on an RSS feed setting. We also provide an e-training library with a full set of catering based modules from statutory HSE/Food Hygiene through customer service to a management development programme, a central recipe dbase with all ages covered from children through adulthood to the aged, complete with nutritional analysis for the user to download and create their own local dbase of recipes and menus, and a comprehensive marketing and category management/retail section complete with hundreds of promotional and incentive ideas. As part of the licence fee for this service we also prepare a private gallery for you to add any internal information that you may wish to do within your own organisation.
One off charges
There are additional one-off charges that are listed and agreed during the sales process, or during periods when you may want to extend your catering services or systems. For example, we have a mobilisation process once you have decided to sign onto the system; this consists of training for super and daily users either at our Liss HO or at your site (the charges reflect the venue), any specific setting up that we have to do for you (we use the training courses for super users to set your system up in an on-job session to save this cost), specific integrations to your existing systems (Caternet provides data output in csv and html formats as standard) and any hardware that you want to deploy (epos, workstations, stock take pdas, bar code scanners, printers, etc…). We expect our customers to provide their own consumables (printer inks, labels, etc…) although we can provide them at competitive rates if required.
E-procurement and our purchasing service
Caternet provides access to e-procurement and a purchasing consortium if you would like to benefit from a very large purchasing power. The service will provide local as well as national suppliers on a net cost basis and this service is charged at an additional 3% of purchases with one-off charges for connecting suppliers to the system. A full tariff and in-depth cost will be provided if you want to use the system. We normally find that we save customers far more than the service costs, and the service also includes a full supplier HACCP service to ensure due diligence is actioned as well as supplier complaints/comments forum, so it is very much a hassle removal service as well as a cost saver.
Updates and customer forums
We are on a journey with Caternet, and we want to take our ever growing list of customers with us, so we actively seek to encourage new ideas and improvements to our systems, and we do this by way of customer forums. Each idea is assessed and discussed openly to see if it is a genuine improvement to the system. If it is, we develop it. If it is bespoke we will speak to the customer to develop it for them at an agreed price.
The only caveat we have with this is if an idea leads to the requirement of hardware, in which case the hardware will be chargeable.
